Battling multiple chronic illnesses, HEDS, POTS, GP,EOE, MCAS, Chronic migraine, and more. April 14 2021 was the day I finally had some answers! Today was the day i had a doctor validate me, listen to me, believe me, and give me answers/diagnoses! Today marks one year I've been diagnosed with Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and a few other diagnoses. Today was the day someone gave me hope again. I started to lose hope and felt like i was never going to have answers and that nobody would ever listen to me or believe me. I was told for so long it was all in my head, just my anxiety, I'm faking it, I'm being dramatic, and so much more. Today is a very emotional day looking back at everything I've gone through and conquered when I didn't think it was possible. The days i was in the hospital crying and screaming in pain and felt so sick. The days i was curled up in a ball after eating the most smallest meal in so much pain and the worst nausea. The days i had to zone out all the awful things people were telling me. The days where i just got sicker and sicker.
past week, i started developing symptoms of a UTI again but instead of listening to my body. I decided to just suffer through the symptoms. Until Thursday night when God knew if i didn't go in that night that i would have developed sepsis. I started vomiting continuously with no breaks to basically breathe before throwing up again. We finally went in when it got to the point where I started vomiting major amounts of blood. I threw up that night way over 30 times and by the time i got to the ER i was still vomiting blood with no breaks to breathe. I have never got back into a room so fast in my life but they took me back right away. Tons of nurses and the doctors were immediately in my room. Helping me transfer and getting things done quickly. They were some of the most kindest nurses and doctor! Their hearts broke to see how violently sick i was. I have a UTI that spread to my kidneys so i also have a major kidney infection. That night i got zero sleep including the next day vomiting way over 40 times. I needed so many different tests done to rule things out and we constantly had to try again because i would just start vomiting again. Sadly i have to be straight cathed until the infection is completely gone then they will put a new foley catheter in. I am on iv antibiotics and depending on how I'm doing tomorrow will depend if we do a CT of my kidneys and another abdominal x-ray etc. I have a very important motility appointment Tuesday and they are going to try their hardest to get me better so i can go to that appointment. Praying i can either be discharged Monday or Tuesday morning so i can make it to the appointment because the doctors know how important it is. I have been severely sick and haven't even been able to be on my phone. Kidney infections are no joke God protected me because if i didn't go in when i did the infection would have spread to my blood stream which can be deadly. I have an incredible team of nurses and doctors that truly care and their hearts break to see how sick i've been. thank you for all the prayers supports good thoughts.
